I had Ms. Violet for all of middle school and four years of high school and she has definitely changed my education for the better. When we first met, I almost despised reading. After knowing her for the past 6 years, I have read multiple classic novels and have decided to be an English major. Ms Violet is definitely a life-changer. <3

I’ve rewatched the movie Matilda countless times. A character that always stuck out to me was Miss Honey who was an exceptional educator and warm-hearted person. Mr Shea is like Matilda's teacher Miss Honey. When I was younger, I always loved books, as I grew the spark faded. I’ve never voiced this aloud but thanks to Mr. Shea my spark was reignited in books. He made learning so much more interactive and engaging. I wasn’t just sitting there quietly answering comprehension questions all session, we were actually discussing. My English and writing has improved drastically ever since he has been my tutor.I hope to continue to thrive and grow as a writer with the help of his guidance!

I’ve been so blessed to have Miss Violet as my English tutor since the 5th grade. As a more science and math oriented person, I always disliked reading and especially writing essays. Now fast forward as an upcoming college freshman, I no longer feel any pressure when tasked with an essay or extensive writing project, and that is all due to Miss Violet’s guidance. She is very supportive and understanding, and she was an instrumental part of my academic journey!

SAVI Tutoring had been a staple in my education ever since I was in the 3rd grade. They had always challenged my thinking by having me analyze and discuss thought provoking stories. They were also compassionate, understanding, and always prioritized my education, pushing me to become the best student I could possibly be. I've come to realize that through their teachings, I had grown as a person as well. Years later, I still carry what I learned from them and continue to think critically about the world.
